Not Sure What Type of System You Need?

There are different types of heat pump and cooling system, and each one works in a slightly different way. Here is a quick overview to help you understand the options.

Most Common

Air Source Heat Pumps

These take heat from the outside air — even in cold weather — and use it to warm your home through radiators, underfloor heating and a hot water cylinder. They are the most popular type of heat pump for UK homes.

Wet System

Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

The most common type for replacing a traditional wet central heating system. They heat water which is then pumped to your radiators and hot water cylinder, much like a boiler does.

Heat & Cool

Air-to-Air Heat Pumps

These heat and cool air directly in the room, similar in appearance to modern air conditioning. Excellent for bedrooms, loft rooms, home offices, garden rooms and extensions that overheat in summer.

Is Your Home Heat-Pump Ready?

Before installing a heat pump, it is important to check whether your property is suitable. CPSL Kent carries out a thorough survey to look at your home's insulation, existing heating system and hot water needs.

A survey helps us recommend the right type and size of system, identify any upgrades that may be needed — such as larger radiators or improved insulation — and give you a clear picture of what to expect.

Heating in Winter. Cooling in Summer.

Some systems can do both. Air-to-air heat pumps and modern air conditioning units provide warmth during colder months and cool air when temperatures rise — all from a single system.

This makes them a practical choice for rooms that get uncomfortably warm in summer, including loft conversions, garden rooms, home offices and south-facing bedrooms. CPSL Kent can advise on whether a combined heating and cooling system is the right fit for your home.

Eligibility depends on your property, the type of system and the current scheme rules. CPSL Kent can guide you through the process and help check whether your property may qualify.
